SuperMarket Update #41--6/22/01
**************

For those of you feeling a bit sluggish and off this morning, I have the
perfect news! You can now purchase organically grown Mexican coffee at
http://www.supermarketcoop.com.

La Sociedad Civil de las Abejas, the Society of the Bees, of Chiapas, Mexico
works with small, local growers to produce Chanul-Pom Coffee. Chanul-Pom
coffee is a rich, full-bodied coffee, completely free of chemicals and its
growers receive a fair wage for their coffee beans. Check it out!

We hope the addition of S.C. de las Abejas is only the beginning! Liz and I
will be heading to Mexico next month to not only expand the information
about all our Mexican members, but secure images and product information for
organic herbal teas, blue corn flour, black beans, sesame seeds, hot sauces,
pickled garlic, mango jelly, handmade baskets and much more!

HOME of Maine, in the true spirit of the SuperMarket Project, has agreed to
work with the Mexican cooperatives, serving as a warehouse and assisting
with shipping, allowing us to offer many new Mexican items retail. Thanks
Father Randy and HOME!

In other news, the Rural Coalition tree is officially copyrighted and we
have uploaded our new SuperMarket Project slogan, which we will also be
using with the Small Farm Connection, to the site. The SuperMarket Project;
Delivering Rural Community Products and Perspectives Directly to Your Door.
We would love your reaction to the changes at http://www.supermarketcoop.com

I appreciate all your comments, please send them to rbond@ruralco.org

In cooperation,
Rebecca Bond
SuperMarket Project Manager
