SuperMarket Update #40--6/14/01
**************

There are some great new changes to the site this week if I may direct your
attention to the homepage; http://www.supermarketcoop.com The HOME
cooperative in Orland, Maine is the Featured Coop this month!

This month's Food and Faces features a great interview with Jan Bailey, a
HOME basket weaver, whose heart basket was included in the Small Farm
Connection June box(formerly the Virtual CSA). And the Juicer focuses on
the changing landscape of rural America. You can link to those directly
from the homepage or browse the previous issues through the Learn More
section of the Web page. http://www.supermarketcoop.com/superhome.htm

We are pleased with these monthly changes we have started making, including
the Recipe of the Month. Once again, Liz has displayed major culinary
talent with this month's Recipe of the Month; HOMEmade Granola, made with
HOME natural honey. http://www.supermarketcoop.com/recipes.htm

This week we have a new product, the Scented Jelly Candles from Maine in fun
scents like Baked Apple Pie, Macintosh Apple and Gingerbread. (don't forget
to cut and paste the link, as it may be cut off)

Other retail site changes include two new catagories; What's New and Support
Us. What's New will feature 5-8 of the newest additions to the store and
Support Us will allow for shoppers to make tax-deductible contributions to
the Rural Coalition to support the expansion of the SuperMarket Project!

Both of those additions came from helpful suggestions from those of you
receiving the weekly updates! Thank you so much for sharing your insight.
I keep every bit of feedback and it really helps to have regular impressions
from folks that have seen it go through its phases. Keep it coming!

Next week look for Mexican coffee for sale on the site and we hope to have
whole wheat flour and flour products from the Nicodemus Flour Cooperative in
Nicodemus, Kansas by July! Onward and upward.

In cooperation,
Rebecca Bond
SuperMarket Project Manager
