SuperMarket Update #34--3/23/01
**************
Spring has sprung here
in the Capitol, as we prepare for the launching of the first
month of the Virtual CSA. Thanks so much to all of you who have
assisted in passing on our project information. From the spectrum
of comments, the word is really getting out there! 29 shares
remain to be sold for the April start date.
We have begun to prepare the
initial member mailing, which will go out late next week. It
is really coming together as a valuable packet of not only project
logistics, but also farm policy information, suggestions and
directions to local and regional CSAs and farmer's markets, history
and future possibilities for the SuperMarket Project, as well
as photos and the Rural Coalition's program book.
The initial mailing should
set a thorough model for the coming months. Liz Clasen, who I
introduced last week as the Rural Coalition's Hunger Fellow,
will include a brief narrative of her experiences interviewing
farmers and preparing stories, and Heather Fenney, the Rural
Coalition Food and Farm
Policy Coordinator has volunteered to assist in monthly policy
pieces related to the month's particular coop.
In addition to the mailings,
I polished up the Frequently Asked Questions page a little following
some of your suggestions and it covers a lot of information that
is not in the short project intro we have been using. Let me
know if there are more questions you feel should be addressed
