July 28, 2000--SuperMarket Coop e-Update
#3
**********
Project Update:
We are at the end of week two and are 22 orders wiser and learning
more about what will make our project stronger and more successful
from every comment!
I am currently making changes
to the site, based on your helpful suggestions, to increase user
friendliness and project information. Also, with the help of
Gail Lennon, a farmer with the Fall River Wild Rice
cooperative, and Father Randy Eldridge, Volunteer Coordinator
with HOME and Rural Coalition Board member, we have begun focusing
on product information and images, as well as the fulfillment
end of the order process (ie. packaging, invoices, thank you
letters and brochures).
With that said, if you have
placed an order, received your products and wish to share any
impressions/suggestions, please email me at rbond@ruralco.org
Finally, we are holding off
on a major project analysis until we have achieved our 40 order
mark. If you know someone who may be interested in supporting
us during our test phase, please forward our site information.
Of course, letting them know we are in test mode and offering
free shipping during this phase!
Product of the Week:
Maine Organic Blueberry Compote--Homeworkers Organized for More
Employment is the cooperative community endorsing our latest
addition to the Web site. A certified organic product, the compote
is made from fresh fruits and sweetened with honey. As they say
in Maine, it's "wicked good"! Check out more information
about HOME and their work in housing, education, job training
and caring for the homeless on their Web site, linked through
http://www.supermarketcoop.com/superhome.htm
Buy Maine Organic Blueberry
Compote at
http://www.supermarketcoop.com/cgi-bin/miva?Merchant2/merchant.mv+
under the Shop by Coop category!
Next Week:
Guest update writer, Father Randy Eldridge, to tell you a bit
more about his role in the SuperMarket Project and fill you in
on HOME's new craft products available on the Web, as well as
HOME's work in Guatemala.
In cooperation,
Rebecca Bond
