e-Update Archives

February 9th, 2001--SuperMarket Coop e-Update #29
**************
Been a busy week planning for a big trip next week! Along with other Rural Coalition staff, I am heading off to California for a multi-city tour! On Wednesday we will be visiting Fall River Mills, CA, home of the Fall River Wild Rice cooperative. Thursday, we head to Salinas, CA, home of Amo Organics. And finally on Friday, we hit Fresno, CA, home of the Hmong American Community. http://www.supermarketcoop.com/coophome.htm

My visits will concentrate on sharing the progress of the SuperMarket Project with the members of the cooperatives in meetings organized by the SuperMarket Design Team representatives. With so many things in the works, it will be a great opportunity to find out what projects are best received and where energy should be directed.

In other subjects, the Virtual CSA is coming together, as well as another potential collaborative effort with an established online fresh food site. I hope to have more to announce next week.

In an aside, these updates have spurred many of you to respond and offer helpful advice regarding my latest dilemma or announcement. As a project with limited resources, it has been invaluable to me. The comments on web design, product presentation, pricing, marketing, fulfillment, trends and potential leads have helped form my work and benefited the project tremendously.

That leads to an additional request. If you have colleagues or friends that you think would take a special interest in what we are working towards, please ask them to send a blank message to welcome@supermarketcoop.com

Remember, together we can make amazing things happen. Again, thanks and any comments, send to rbond@ruralco.org

In cooperation,
Rebecca Bond
SuperMarket Project Manager
