- January 12, 2001--SuperMarket Coop e-Update #25
**********
Here I am, back in the office
and ready to start the New Year with a bang!
Team coverage in my absence
went really well, only one tiny glitch. A very special update
written by Chilo Villarreal, meant for the 21st week, for technical
difficulties, did not go out. Chilo, as a Rural Coalition Board
Member and active SuperMarket Participant from Mexico, has some
wishes and
thoughts to share, so please continue on to read her message.
You will find both the English and the Spanish versions below.
By next week I will fill you
in on all the project updates and details. Until then, Happy
New Year and don't forget to order your Fall River Wild Rice
chips in time for your Super Bowl Parties! The
case is a steal and you can choose half Garlic and half Natural.
Follow this link for more information.
In cooperation,
Rebecca Bond
SuperMarket Project Manager
Here is Chilo's update in
Spanish, the English follows.
tod@s.

Being so close to Christmas
we want to tell to everybody that we hope on this holiday that
you found lots of signs of Faith, Hope and Love to make your
work stronger each day in 2001
For the first time this up-date
is coming from Mexico and we want to say some of the good news
that we have. In the first days of December we went to Las Vegas
to the IAC Symposium and Supermarket design team meeting. Everyone
who heard about it could not believe we went there to work because
they think that Las Vegas is just gambling and shows but we want
to share that we also made some Chains of Life. This means that
we got two very concrete actions between organizations for next
year. One was to make chili salsa to complement the California
Wild Rice Chips and to sell them together for January Superbowl
parties. The second is that Father Randy from HOME is willing
to pack and send the cactus from ORNI that we are going to put
in the WEB page when we have the permissions to import them.
The Red de Artesan@s de Tarahumara
made some Nativity Scenes from the Birth of Christ in Waries,
Wood and Drums. They are very pretty because they are decorated
with the things they have in their houses like pots, waries,
plants, animals etc. For next year we would like put them on
the WEB page
and hope to sell a lot.
In this update we also want
to thank Cleo because we have been feeling his presence very
close to us and the RC. With responsibility as usual he is doing
his work keeping care of his beloved ones.
Dear friends and members of
Supermarketing we hope that together we can bring Peace and Prosperity
to each of the families and groups that we work with, that each
day we strive for a life and a history where the world is more
humane and united for everyone.
