SuperMarket Update #19--11/21/00
**************

Due to the holiday and short work week, I'm combining last week's update with this week's exciting news! The SuperMarket Project and the Rural Coalition are pleased to announce that one new group of small farmers has joined our Web site and we anticipate two more within the next weeks.

At http://www.supermarketcoop.com/pwffpage.html you can learn about Patchwork Family Farms located in Columbia, Missouri. Patchwork includes 15 independent, family hog farmers and their motto is "we raise pork the old-fashioned way."

They are a great group, and although we won't have photos of their sausage, ham, and combo meat/cheese gift boxes until next week, you can check out their product descriptions at the following link

In the next week, we hope to announce products from the Family Farm Defenders, located in Wisconsin. A group that I met last September during Farm Aid, they will offer a variety of cheeses (including jalepeño and tomato/basil) which are yummy. I know some of you were just waiting for the cheese.

And finally, December 2nd, Jamil and I will travel to Las Vegas, with other Rural Coalition staff and SuperMarket Participants for the Intertribal Agriculture Council's Annual Symposium. We will be hosting a workshop about the project and how it works and hope to add new IAC products during the
workshop! Organizational information about the IAC is already posted at http://www.supermarketcoop.com/IACpage.htm

These new developments allow us to appeal to a wider shopping audience and make exciting additions to our fresh balsam wreaths, jams, syrups, honey, wild rice and rice chips, baskets, lamps, table linens, hair accessories, coin purses, tote bags, am I leaving something out? :)

And for those of you looking for gifts, we have created a Holiday Shopping category with samplers and gift boxes and the fresh Balsam wreaths, from HOME. Order your wreath today, the first orders will be shipped started November 27th!
