SuperMarket Update #16--10/27/00
**************
Just wanted to give everyone a quick update on my travels. I am presently in Fairlee, Vermont, attending the annual meeting for the National Network of Forest Practicioners. It has been a busy week for travel.

I promise to give more details next week, but as it is Friday, couldn't fail to bring you the latest news.

I just finished my workshop. Internet Marketing--from the perspective of the SuperMarket Coop project experience. Everyone was super receptive and it was great feedback for me to see how excited the audience was to what we are doing.

Of course, there is always room for improvement, but we have come a long way in such a short amount of time, 16 weeks today. Most of the questions were concerning the exact "how to's" of our project. The communication between myself and the cooperatives, as well as the relationship building experience
we have had through this update, the focus group and feedback I have gotten from all of you. The community we are creating is a new idea for Internet commerce and something very valuable.

As I have been offline for a few days, Jamil has really been spearheading the product uploads and additions. It as if we have a home and away team working now! Last week a few of you got back to me about missing prices on the Mexican baskets. Well, as a result of your honesty, you can now pay for them! And I understand you would like to see pictures of the undecorated wreaths, which I will try to get by next week.

Thanks so much for your support. Teaching this workshop made it very obvious to me how important this community has been in terms of strengthening the project. Just the differences on the homepage and layout alone!

More next week, if you have comments, please let me know at rbond@ruralco.org

In cooperation,
Rebecca Bond
SuperMarket Project Manager
