SuperMarket Coop Update #13--10/6/00
**********
Project Update: It's been a busy week, preparing for upcoming
travel, conferences, workshops and most important, filling Jamil
in on all project details.
A large part of that preparation
is getting the Web site ready for more promotion! Between the
two of us, we can accomplish a lot more and I think you will
like the new changes.
The most obvious, of course,
is the announcement of HOME's holiday wreaths! As part of our
holiday promotion, the wreath can be found on the homepage and
there is more detailed information about them in the catalog.
We are accepting orders now, to be shipped out after November
27th! Early orders are shipped first and last year mine lasted
well into March! You will love the Balsam scent and we've programmed
the site so you can include a gift message.
Based on your suggestions,
I have swapped the buttons on the shopping page. They now match
the buttons on the homepage and hopefully will be easier to read.
In the "Meet our Coops"
section of the Web site, we are continuing to build pages for
each coop. This will take some time, of course, but you can check
out the lasted addition, The Mileston Cooperative, of Mississippi.
We hope to have their products up next month.
And finally, I have gotten
some great images of fresh vegetables from the Hmong American
Community in Fresno, California. They are willing to help us
experiment with the retail sale of some of their produce. We
will even be doing some free sample orders, if you are interested,
to help us determine
quantity and price. Always something new! More on that next week.
We have gotten some orders
for cases of Wild Rice Chips. I understand folks are buying them
for their offices. Let me know how you are enjoying your purchases.
As always, if you have any
feedback or suggestions, please email me at rbond@ruralco.org
