We all know that organic foods are healthier than a lot of mass-produced name brand stuff but, unfortunately, organic foods are also more expensive. Many people claim that to be their reason for not eating healthier when it comes to foods you buy in a supermarket, and with the economy being what it is and food prices soaring seemingly every month – who could blame them?
Nobody wants to spend tons of money on organic foods, just so that they can then be forced to look into debt settlement services to pay for it all. Perhaps that example is a little extreme, but it’s really no joke that organic foods aren’t cheap, but are they worth the cost?
The answer really depends on what you think is too much. Some people would see the price justified, especially if they have to go on a specially regulated diet to sustain their own livelihood. And, while it is true that a lot of organic products do cost more, they also tend to last longer than most things bought in a regular grocery store. Why? Because they are organic, all those preservatives and additives are gone. In the end, it’s really up to the consumer to decide if organic food is worth the cost. Of course, if you NEED organic food for health reasons there is a better way of looking at the matter of cost – pay now or pay later.
